General Summary

Support the volleyball staff in their recruitment, counseling, conditioning, training, and coaching of the varsity volleyball team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.

Coordinate all aspects of team travel, including, but not limited to, transportation, lodging, meals, and logistics.

Manage the team’s operating budget, monitoring expenditures each month.

Oversee and manage Teamworks database for the team, including schedules and communication for the team.

Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

Organize special events (e.g., banquets, senior day, etc.).

Coordinate all videos (e.g., film exchange, film editing, scout tapes, etc.).

Coordinate all community service functions for the team.

Serve as the team’s liaison to support staff within the athletics department (e.g., marketing, compliance, etc.).

Coordinate summer camp operations.

Provide coaching instruction to the team at practice and in competitions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge in sports recruiting, counseling, conditioning, training, and coaching, typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field in order to assist in the organization and direction of all activities in the volleyball program, is necessary.

Knowledge of NCAA policies is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in counseling and advising student-athletes is desirable.

Three years of previous college coaching experience with the assigned sport is desirable.
