Responsibilities include providing expertise, guiding cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders, driving process improvement, and ensuring successful project execution. Requirements include a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Director-level experience, strong problem-solving skills, Java proficiency, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Software Development Teams:
- Provide a strong sense of ownership and technical competence to your teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership to multiple missions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality product software products.
- Collaborate with internal leadership, executive teams, and business leaders to develop and execute software product strategies in alignment with cross-functional teams.
- Foster collaboration, trust, and accountability among departmental and cross-functional teams.
- Operational Excellence and Stakeholder Management:
- Demonstrate strong business acumen in managing diverse global staff and third-party vendors.
- Achieve operational excellence by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing changes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to foster trust and influence key decisions.
- Collaborate, address conflicts, and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage executive stakeholder relationships and effectively communicate with high-level executives.
Requirements:
- Technical and Leadership Skills:
- Understanding of Microservice and Cloud architectures for application development.
- Contains the hard-skills (design, CI/CD, programming) necessary to drive results within the teams.
- Substantial hands-on experience in software development, with a strong foundation in coding and programming.
- An ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Ability to achieve goals through effective influencing and partnership.
- Substantial hands-on experience in software development, with a strong foundation in coding and programming.
- In-depth knowledge of modern development practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Operational Excellence and Project Management:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize activities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities, develop end-to-end procedures, and implement change.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
- Director of Software Engineering experience (or equivalent) in managing software development teams and projects.
- 6+ years of people management experience, including performance management, career development, and conflict resolution.
- 10+ years of experience managing software development projects.
