Quick take: Axios is a thriving, fast-growing media organization dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news in an audience-first format. As we continue to build our brand partnerships team, we are looking for a business-minded creative who can lead on strategic, cross-category ideation for our advertising partners.
Why it matters: Reporting into the Managing Director, Strategic Brand Partnerships and within Axios’ revenue organization, the Director, Strategic Brand Partnerships will work closely with colleagues in sales, integrated marketing and studio operations to spearhead creative ideation and original programming for our advertising partners.
Go deeper: We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about the future of news and is interested in building new products and partnerships that help ensure its survival. Other responsibilities include:
- Innovative thinking: We’re looking for an innovative thinker who can reimagine what already exists and create new opportunities based on client needs and objectives. You should be insights driven but open to breaking new ground.
- Proactive ideation: You’ll work closely with the Managing Director, Strategic Brand Partnerships and SVP, Client Partnerships and Subscriptions to craft new, left of RFP ideas for the team to bring to market. You will also help craft Axios’ go-to-market strategy, making updates as needed to ensure the brand message is clear and relevant.
- Proposal responses: You’ll work closely with your colleagues in sales, integrated marketing and studio operations to craft fresh ideas in response to proposals that meet a certain set of criteria.
- Internal collaboration: You’ll partner with other leaders across the organization including tech, product and revenue enablement to ensure the brand strategy team is ahead of any new internal opportunities.
- Market interest: We’re looking for someone who’s interested in the world of brand and advertising. We’ll look to you to share market insights, best in class campaigns, and other metrics that will ensure Axios remains a formidable player in the marketplace.

- Experience crafting proactive programs
- Experience responding to six-and-seven-figure RFPs
- Experience tapping into market trends and insights to inform your work
- Experience working with sales colleagues to translate client conversations into actionable campaigns
- Experience ideating cross-category
- Exceptionally collaborative with experience working across teams to produce quality work
- Demonstrated knowledge of brand, marketing and advertising landscape
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $120,000 - $132,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits.
