Director, US Integrated Communications & Creator Engagement (NARS)

Job Summary:
This position is an integral part of the NARS US business driving the integrated communications strategy to include Creator activations and engagement, communications programs and initiatives surrounding the US market and daily business functions. This position is heavily focused on Creator-specific strategy and programming.

Essential Responsibilities:
Creator Programming and Outreach
Develop brands overarching US Communications and Creator strategy to drive brand love and awareness and support key business priorities
Ideate new and compelling ways to engage the creator community and consumers with ties to retail, DTC, etc.
Further NARS’ earned and paid creator strategies, ensuring ongoing relevance through key as well as emerging platforms, content types, and influencer verticals
Oversee, develop, and maintain relationships with mega, mid-tier and micro creators as well as agent/management teams across multiple categories (beauty, artists, lifestyle, gaming, etc.) to drive organic brand support and EMV
Identify and explore new platform creator experimentation and development
Partner with US paid media and the Global Digital team to ideate and execute influencer specific 360-degree launch programming
Oversee competitive analysis reporting and trend research to ensure we are acting as leaders in the space
Oversee celebrity outreach, seeding and red-carpet sponsorship opportunities when applicable
Media Relations
Lead and manage the implementation of the US Communications strategy inclusive of US based brand/business/digital communications + launch focused coverage
Liaise with top-tier digital and select print media; strategically pitch feature / exclusive story ideas
Develop and maintain relationships with key editors at KPI outlets
Event Management and Coordination
Drive forward-thinking press and influencer events; oversee coordination of logistics including production, venue selection, catering, etc. with the support of the Manager
Fashion Week Support
Oversee all media engagement for Fashion Week including invites, RSVP, backstage staffing, pitching features, etc.
Key Retailer Support
Partner and ideate with key retailers (i.e., Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, etc.) to develop exclusive 360 launch strategies to support the sales targets and sell through of exclusive launches/leads
Attend and present strategy in all retailer market meetings biannually
Beauty of Change Cause Platform
Drive US programming and execution in partnership with Global Brand Communications
Budget

Manage all US Communications financial and budget needs:
Oversee US Communications annual budget. Challenge the status quo and ensure budget allocation aligns with the US business goals.
Develop funding requests for key launches and present strong case for funding that includes % lift is sales for in store and dot.com, increase in EMV and impact on brand ranking
Prepare annual budget presentations for upcoming year along with the corresponding strategy to present to US team
Forecasting / Mailings
Approve all seeding strategies, product forecasts and inventory oversight for all new and existing product launches
Reporting and Presentations
Oversee various reporting and presentations for any departmental or executive needs
Present communications plans for retailer market meetings, conferences, etc.
Team Management & Development
Provide strong leadership and oversee team’s daily projects and responsibilities
Drive strong career pathing and development of team members

Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in public relations/communications in agency or in-house, excluding internships. Experience in beauty communications preferred
Strong understanding and passion for the beauty and cosmetics industry
Extensive knowledge of the creator and media landscape domestically
Finger on pulse of digital innovation and developments in space
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
Strong relationships with creators + management teams and editors
Professional writing skills, including strategies, press releases, media alerts, talking points, and guidelines amongst others
Strong understanding and proficiency in budget management
Demonstrates a high level of maturity, resourcefulness, and poise in executive and corporate setting
Must work well with a large team in an open-office setting
Holds a strong work ethic and standard for which tasks and projects are completed (Attention to detail is a must)
Excellent organizational and communications skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task

Salary :
$119,925 - $179,887.5/ year
