We have an exciting opportunity now available for a
Director, User Experience.

As Sr. Director of User Experience, you are responsible for providing strategic direction, leading Uniphore’s UX department and provide support across business units and product lines. You will work on developing UX strategy, process, and best practices and propagate them across the product organization and all product lines.
This will be a hybrid role, requiring a candidate to periodically work in our Palo Alto office. We are unable to provide relocation.

Responsibilities

    • Craft an outstanding vision and strategy that harmonizes the user experience within and across the business units and portfolio of products
    • Build plans that align UX design with product roadmaps ensuring clear and measurable progress toward the vision
    • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to execute on plans, supporting existing processes while also defining new ones where needed
    • Lead and mentor a team of UX designers, attract top talent and manage the performance of the team according to our guiding principles of ownership, speed, diversity & inclusion, obsession over customer needs, and helping each other thrive
    • Establish clear goals which enable the UX team to deliver consistently high-quality work
    • Lead Customer discussions to determine our users' challenges and uncover ways to ensure the value of our solutions are made clear.
    • Introduce a well-measured approach to how we solve user experience problems, assessing how we can improve throughout the customer journey
    • Evangelize user-centric design principles while serving as a subject matter authority to internal as well as external partners and stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Proven experience leading User Experience design teams in technology or SaaS environment
    • A history of broad experience crafting excellent user experiences for enterprise software users
    • Come to the table with a compelling portfolio highlighting how the designs and principles employed drove business results
    • Articulated examples of successful partnerships with both technical and business partners, while building strong UX design teams
    • Excellent written & oral communication skills
    • Experience in working in Agile methodologies
    • Be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior level executives
    • Management of external vendors/contractors including writing scopes of work, contract negotiation, deliverable tracking and alignment
    • Ability to clearly articulate the value being delivered, tailoring the message as appropriate to each audience

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in one or more of the following subject areas; Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or related
    • Expert-level familiarity with design and prototyping tools
    • 10+ years of professional UX experience
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base salary hiring range for this position is:
California: $200,000 - $220,000
The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
In addition to competitive base pay, this position also includes an annual [bonus/commission] based on target achievement, pre-IPO stock options, benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with a match, and more, plus generous paid time off, paid holidays, paid day off for your birthday and other paid leave policies to support employees through all phases of life.
