Are you looking for an exciting visionary leadership role where you would take on responsibility for the Product and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, drive Divio's product roadmap, and secure the cloud operations of the Divio Platform (PaaS) working both strategically and very hands-on? You love leading and inspiring Engineers who are developing products and applications in Django / Python and provisioning and maintaining cloud infrastructure services from hyperscalers, and you’ll bring that enthusiasm to collaborate with your colleagues on Divio's products so customers enjoy the best possible experience - and keep making it even better. You will be working closely with the management team, to ensure technical and business strategy are aligned and company objectives are met. In this exciting leadership role, you’ll be encouraging Divio's Engineering team to constantly extend, optimize, and modernize the platform. You’ll be fostering new ideas from the technical teams while supervising the conception, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge enhancements and new features.

As Divio's CTO, you are acting as an experienced coach who is leading an experienced team of SREs, frontend- and backend developers. You are a visionary leader, that shows dedication and motivates his/her teams to strive for greatness. We follow a philosophy of active interaction within and outside of Divio. As Divio's CTO, it is crucial that you like to engage with our customers, and like every member of our team, you’ll assist them with help and expertise.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in a tech leadership role as a CTO/CPO or Head of Engineering/Product with a successful track record building trust and leading engineering teams effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or similar)
  • Technical architectural knowledge and a strong foundation in designing scalable systems
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure management and solution architecture, including advising customers
  • Experience in managing complex IT systems
  • Hands-on expertise in Python, Docker, AWS and Azure. Experience with Kubernetes is preferred
  • Familiarity with ISMS and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, 27017, 27018
  • Ability to work and lead a team within an intercultural and geographically dispersed company
  • A people person and real team player, who is passionate and driven
  • Ambitious and motivated personality, who has a passion for achieving greatness with the team and company
  • Proficient command of spoken and written English. German-speaking proficiency is a plus
  • Legally eligible to work either in Switzerland, Germany or Sweden

Within 1 month, you'll:

  • Learn about the business and dive into the inner workings of our platform. Learn more about the entire company ecosystem and stakeholders.
  • Get to know your team (Product/SRE), the teams which you'll be working very closely with (Sales, Marketing, Customer Engagement), and the management (CEO, COO, CFO, Head of Finance).
  • Do a deep dive into the company's strategy, objectives, and processes to understand the company's purpose and goals.

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Establish strong communication rhythms with your teams and management peers, practicing transparency and visibility in the team's progress against the company's objectives.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of Divio's solution architecture and customers and start shaping the product vision and roadmap with the teams.
  • Understand the team and company dynamics and are integrated as a trusted and visionary leader within his direct reports and management peers.
  • Solicit feedback from your teams through thoughtful feedback.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Be responsible for managing the product vision and roadmap and overseeing the development sprints.
  • Make a significant impact on the platform via strong technical solutions.
  • Supervise system infrastructure for reliability, functionality, and efficiency.
  • Oversee IT budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Maintain ISMS compliance and manage security protocols.
  • Manage and guide the engineering team (Product & SRE), fostering a culture of collaboration and trust

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Be a visionary and trusted leader, fully incorporated within the Engineering team (Product & SRE).
  • Be responsible for the technical products and solutions within Divio.
  • Show strong contribution towards achieving the company goals and objectives.
  • Know and be introduced to selected Divio customers and make extensive contributions to newly emerging customer needs.
  • Drive the product vision and roadmap and deliver exciting product features to new and existing customers.
  • Extensively collaborate with the engineering team to level up the team and continually improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the platform.
