WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Directs and manages the product development cycle of various products. Ensures product development is market-driven and consistent with the business strategy. Oversees the facilitation of product presentations. Establishes policies, procedures and objectives for various products to include product development, sales and service strategies, distribution channels, sales and marketing communication plans.
  • Oversees and/or participates in the identification and definition of the scope of new product development initiatives and product enhancements needed to meet market demands and support strategic initiatives. Oversees the product development process for new product or product enhancement initiatives from conception through final product design acting as an advocate for the needs of sales and the consumer. Proposes product line and portfolio strategies to senior management.
  • Oversees the completion of opportunity assessments for new product or product enhancement initiatives. Identifies key policy provisions, service requirements, pricing considerations, and reporting requirements. Completes strategic fit assessments to ensure product initiatives fit within the Operation's strategic objectives including corporate and division directives, target market objectives, growth opportunities, distribution strategies, legal and compliance issues, pricing considerations, product or market diversification strategies, and system strategies.
  • Oversees and/or participates in the completion of the business case for product development initiatives and oversees all aspects of product design. Ensures the completion of an impact assessment including implications for sales and distribution, marketing, underwriting, financial reporting, benefits administration, compliance, actuarial, investments, technology, and contingency plans for expanding or exiting a product line. Develops a cost/benefit analysis for product development initiatives.
  • Works with support areas (i.e. Brand, Marketing, etc.) to execute marketing and training strategies for product introduction and determines impacts to sales channels, employers, participants, producers, etc.


ABOUT YOU:

  • You are able to work remotely and have access to high-speed internet.
  • Must be located in United States or Puerto Rico.
  • 5+ years of experience in a product-related role.
  • Expertise in strategic product design.
  • Thorough understanding of the insurance product line being supported and the financial services industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise related to product development.
  • Strong financial aptitude for evaluating and predicting results.
  • Thorough understanding of industry marketing philosophies, distributions, and competition.
  • Excellent analytical, writing and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, human relations, and leadership skills (i.e. ability to lead and foster a team environment to meet customer expectations).
  • Creativity.
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and retain an extensive volume of information on a large number of issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.
  • Ability to make others comply in fair, equitable, non punishing fashion.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.

  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year
  • Regular associates receive 9 paid holidays in 2023
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 56 hours of personal time in 2023, prorated based on start date.
  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $204,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
