Job Description

Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Grocery Manager helps oversee the Front End, Grocery and Housewares departments. Reports to the Operations Manager; manages the Cashiers for Front End, as well as the Market Associates for Grocery and Housewares.

  • Analyzes sales and monitors Key Performance Indicators to meet budget and sales goals.
  • Assists the Operation Manager in organizing and directing the store’s Front End, Grocery and Housewares departments to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s mission, values, policies, quality and guest experience standards Manages the team members in Front End, Grocery and Housewares: hires, schedules, trains, motivates, submits payroll, evaluates.
  • Oversees scheduling, labor costs, purchases, inventory, and stock levels, placing orders or requisitions as needed.
  • Processes delivery orders, unloads stock trucks, and generates monthly reports.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly store aesthetic by ensuring only saleable merchandise is displayed, promptly handling expired or non-saleable items.
  • Creates monthly promotion grids, designing store layouts and promotional displays with saleable merchandise in alignment with company policies.
  • Manages ecommerce activities, including updating product selection and promotion visibility.
  • Coordinates with Marketing and Facilities on product layouts, in-store communications, displays, signage, and fixture updates or issues.
  • Collaborates with other departments and corporate teams to plan activities, events, and share information.
  • Conducts regular store inspections to ensure compliance with all programs, rules, and standards.
  • Documents, investigates, and resolves employee and guest incidents.
  • Oversees Front End operations, including checkouts, cash management, and guest relations.
  • Assists Operation Manager in analyzing financial data and developing strategies to improve efficiency, enhance the guest experience, and drive sales.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree
  • 2+ year of experience in a retail management position
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and business management skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use a hand truck, cart, box cutter, ladder, label maker, and cleaning supplies
