EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Educational Development Department


ABOUT THE POSITION:

Under the direction of the department Director, the Educational Development Specialist develops and maintains all education-related materials, including but not limited to manuals, curriculum, and forms. Projects include programs for LC, Exam Prep, SES, and ST services. In the immediate future, the biggest focus will be on Huntington exam prep programs and materials, accreditation, curricula research, and support to center staff.


IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:

  • Work with other members of EDD to maintain existing educational programs including Subject Tutoring, Learning Center, and Exam Prep/Direct Enroll.
  • Monitor, maintain, and update Huntington exam prep programs and materials with support from other members of the EDD team.
  • Assist with coordination and development of Accreditation Self-study and Strategic Planning documentation for centers undergoing the accreditation process.
  • Provide support to the franchise community and company centers by answering questions submitted to the Education Help Desk regarding forms, manuals, curriculum and materials ordering procedures, educational materials, LC and EP Navigator, and Huntington programs.
  • Create, research, and develop new educational programs including curriculum, policies, and procedures.
  • Correspond and coordinate with publishers and vendors on educational products, materials, and tests.
  • Maintain curriculum information on the HDMS/CHAMP systems.
  • Create, edit, update, and maintain all forms and manuals for all departments.
  • Research special projects dealing with competitors, company growth, and other potential programs, as directed.
  • Support other corporate departments on special projects, as directed.
  • Write, edit, and update Teacher Meeting Notes and Lesson Plans on a monthly basis.
  • Write memos and articles for in-house publications.


REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Minimum of a four-year college degree
  • Current or prior experience at a Huntington Learning Center, either full-time or part-time
  • Strong knowledge of Huntington exam prep programs, materials, and EP Navigator
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office
  • Project Management experience a plus, but not required


Qualified candidates will have prior experience in a center-based position, and will have demonstrated a great attitude and commitment to the business, a thorough knowledge of the Huntington system, and a track record of results.
