Job Description

Egis (for the Europe and Africa Region) is seeking an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Specialist to support the analysis of environmental and social impact and to drive continuous improvement in Egis' performance in these areas through the implementation of its sustainable development strategy.

This position will be based in Poland (Warsaw) and will report to the Egis ESG Manager for the Europe and Africa region. The Specialist will support the countries where Egis operates, including Poland, Romania, Ukraine, and Serbia. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Polish and EU sustainable development policies and the ability to draw practical conclusions from data for various projects.

Scope of responsibilities:

  • Supporting the continuous enhancement of monitoring ESG trends and benchmarking performance across various sectors where Egis operates.

 

  • Leading the development of new tools and reports to gain insights and understand performance outcomes

 

  • Collaborating with various functions within the company (e.g., HR, Procurement, Project Operations, Finance) to collect and record robust and accurate ESG data for the Europe and Africa region.

 

  • Conducting detailed analysis of this data in line with Egis’ ESG goals and objectives, and presenting the results in various formats (e.g., reports and dashboards) for different internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative inputs/outputs on key issues such as carbon emissions, biodiversity, and social value to understand our impact and support the preparation of recommendations for performance improvement.

 

  • Supporting the implementation of Egis' action plans for reducing carbon emissions, including science-based targets and pathways to achieving carbon neutrality, as well as other ESG-related action plans.

 

  • Supporting the Egis ESG team for Europe and Africa in developing and creating data-driven analyses on environmental and social impact issues.

 

  • Co-developing new methods for recording and analyzing data in compliance with industry and legal requirements.

 

  • Continuously reviewing current and upcoming regulations, standards, criteria, and best practices related to ESG, such as the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), TPT (Transition Plan Taskforce), SDS (Sustainability Disclosure Standards), and TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures).

 

 

Hybrid work: Possible for this position, with the main office located in Warsaw. Occasional travel to the United Kingdom and France may be required. In exceptional cases and with approval, travel to other parts of Europe/Africa may also be possible.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in writing analytical reports
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to work with large, complex data sets
  • Proficiency in Excel, data systems, and Microsoft Office for reporting and effective communication
  • Knowledge of carbon emissions reporting and relevant regulations, such as SBTi
  • Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in data and analysis
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Active interest in ESG topics and data analysis

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education in sustainability, environmental protection, or a related field
  • Qualifications in data analysis or data management (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required; knowledge of other languages will be an additional asset
