The Albany International Kaukauna facility is a union-free environment. The person in the position will assist with install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems including lighting, electronic controls for machines, and work on the upgrading of manufacturing equipment. The Electrical Apprentice will work with blueprints and follow the National Electric Code and NFP70E when installing/working on electrical systems/equipment. He/she may be involved in Preventive Maintenance, TPM, or other maintenance related activities. The Apprentice will also attend school throughout the apprenticeship. The scheduled shift is a 4 shift/4-week rotation that includes the traditional first shift (two weeks), third shift, and scheduled weekend shift (Thursday night thru Saturday night 6pm-6am, or Friday thru Sunday (6am-6pm) with six scheduled days off between the third shift and weekend shift. The 36-hour scheduled weekend shift will receive 40 hours pay.
SAFETY AND PROCEDURES
. Follow all safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.
. Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.
. Attend and participate in all assigned safety training, safety meetings, audits, and Behavior Based Safety programs.
. Report all safety hazards observed and work with fellow team members and/or Safety Team members to resolve the issue
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
. Periodically inspect maintain all plant wide/manufacturing equipment.
. Advise management of equipment hazards
. PLC understanding/programming
. Work on process improvement upgrades
. Participate on various Department Groups and Committees
. Act as a respectful member of the Maintenance Team
. Assist with minor mechanical maintenance work.
Required Skills:
. Work with and assist other tradesmen whenever possible.
. Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic production equipment while following standard electrical safety practices.
. Plan and implement preventative and predictive electrical maintenance programs.
. Willing to become proficient with the MS Office Suite
. Willing to learn many different PLC programming and drive maintenance software packages.
. Assist with ordering electrical spare parts.
. Open to learning about construction, hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion systems.
. Work towards a High-level understanding of wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, solid state devices, codes, and the operation of electronic test equipment
. Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge of plant equipment.
. Use of an electronic work order system
. Experience with SAP a plus
