POSITION SUMMARY


We are looking for a summer intern to support our Network and Infrastructure initiatives. The intern will develop a general understanding of network design and importance of proper documentation for future initiatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with our VP of Network and Infrastructure to understand network design and layout
  • Develop a detailed project plan utilizing Monday.com
  • Inventory all network IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) / MDF (Main Distribution Frame) rooms
  • Document and photograph all network equipment
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers to ensure all relevant equipment data is collected
  • Place all gathered data into Visio diagrams, as well as supporting Word and Excel documents
  • Provide weekly status reports to senior IT Management
  • This project work would lead to several business benefits:
  • Support future Smart Building technologies
  • Support our future building rise upgrade projects
  • Consolidate hardware usage
  • Reduce hardware, maintenance, and operating costs
  • Create a foundational path for a Cloud migration


REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Team player with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, driven, organized, and hard-working
  • Integrity and a commitment to excellence


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • A Junior enrolled in a four-year or five-year undergraduate program in the class of 2026 is preferred. 
  • A strong interest in Network Administration and/or Network Design as a career is preferred.
  • B.A. program or related field
  • Strong interest in technology
  • Interest in PropTech, Internet of Things, and Real Estate a plus


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

WELL-BEING
  • 40-hour work week, paid at a rate of $22.50 p/h

$22.50 - $22.50 an hour
Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, job location, size of property where applicable, and/or certifications. In addition to your base salary, ESRT provides discretionary annual bonuses.
