Employee Relations Specialist

Investigates and prepares cases involving employee grievances and AA/EEO for assigned Units. Manages ADAA, FMLA and other LOA cases for assigned Units. Coaches managers to investigate and be proactive in matters relating to employee relations, complaints and grievances. Handles highly sensitive information and works closely with Units and external contacts. Facilitates training to Units and manages assigned projects.

5. Ability to frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
6. Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
7. Regular attendance and timeliness – Work schedule 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
8. Public contact position requiring appropriate business-like apparel.
9. Ability to research trends and make recommendations based on trends or change in State and/or Federal laws.
10. Ability to commit whatever time or effort is required to ensure customer/managers and employees needs are met.
11. Ability to continuously learn and to pursue self-development through personal study, training and education.
12. Ability to adapt and embrace change.
13. Speaks clearly and effectively in one-on-one, in small or large groups, taking into account diversity and culture audience.
14. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and commitment when handling cases and completes investigations in a timely manner.
15. Demonstrates ability and willingness to follow through on each case.
16. Uses empathy when understanding the needs, concerns, and culture of disgruntled or negatively affected customer/employee.

Master's degree
