The role, at a glance:
As a Warehouse Engineer II, you will have responsibility for optimizing the operational efficiency of Biamp’s Global Distribution Center. Your primary focus will be on ensuring smooth material flow, optimizing storage systems, and improving overall warehouse processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve warehouse operations, implement new process and technology solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the distribution warehouse.
How you'll contribute:
Optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and material flow to maximize space utilization and minimize handling time.
Implement best practices for inventory management, including cycle counting, stock accuracy checks, and replenishment strategies.
Identify areas for process improvement within the warehouse and develop solutions to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
Analyze data and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in warehouse operations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement process changes, including the introduction of automation and technology solutions.
Serve as a subject matter expert for warehouse systems and technologies, providing guidance and support to users and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technologies to streamline operations, enhance visibility, and improve productivity.
Ensure all processes have accurate and reliable Process Documents and Work Instructions.
Train warehouse staff on the proper use of systems and technologies to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
Ensure the timely release of NPI products by collaboration with the Operations Program Management and operational groups.
You'll also support with:
Develop metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for operational processes supported.
Respond to quality issues and out-of-control events, including preventative and corrective action as well as subsequent continuous improvement projects.
Collect or extract data involving forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, or warehousing from available systems for analysis and warehouse metrics.
Advise warehouse management on compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices within the warehouse environment.
Develop and document reverse logistics processes to ensure support of Customer Service events.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, quality control, and transportation service providers, to ensure seamless integration of warehouse operations with other functions.
Participate in meetings, provide expertise and insights, and contribute to strategic discussions related to warehouse optimization and network expansion.

A successful candidate should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
4-7 years of recent, hands-on warehouse experience in the applicable process area of expertise.
Demonstrable experience in improving processes, including an understanding of and the utilization of Lean principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and advanced competence in Excel.
Organized and analytical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various department personnel.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Must be able to read and write in English.
Work environment:
Position requires working onsite in Tigard, OR.
Environment of the position can be a combination of office, manufacturing floor or warehouse setting.
Physical requirements: ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently/occasionally and up to 50lbs periodically.
Stand or sit for long periods.
Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels.
Use tools that require fine hand skills.
Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts.
Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areas.
Amount of travel: 5% to 25%.
