In our Redmond Washington facility we fabricate, assembly, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems. Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires.
We are currently seeking experienced Engineering Technicians with knowledge of contamination control techniques and processes. Day & night shift positions available. Ideal candidates will be team-oriented and willing to work other shifts and overtime as needed to meet production schedules.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):

Strong mechanical assembly understanding
- Strong understanding of pressure testing (proof pressure, external leak testing with mas-spectrometer and internal leak testing)

Strong understanding of electrical testing (DMM, Hipot, oscilloscope, etc..)
-
Handle precision clean parts within a laminar flow environment.

Able to test and certify in processes such as in torquing, pressure testing, part marking, electrical testing, etc..

Read and interpret product drawings and department procedures.
-
Perform diversified, but semi-repetitive operations following standardized methods and procedures under changing conditions.

Perform troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies, company manufactured tooling and pressure testing.

Perform electrical fabrication. (Certification to IPC 620 preferred.)

Use and operate various computer systems and applicable software (such as retrieving work instructions or manufacturing module in ERP system).

Additional duties could include production of parts, metal fabrication, etc.

Apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Effectively communicate (both written and oral)
10% - Supports a variety of contamination control and/or manufacturing related tasks including assisting with troubleshooting problems, incident reporting, failure investigations, training, report preparation, etc.
20% - Performs complex/precision mechanical assembly and test of valves or other components/products as assigned. Read and interpret product drawings and department procedures.
10% - Other duties as assigned, such as but not limited to support of new production initiatives and schedules.
Requirements:
Requires an Associates Degree plus at least one (1) year of experience or a High School graduate with at least five (5) years of related experience in mechanical environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Technician level (3) requires an Associates degree and at least three (3) years of related experience in mechanical environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of contamination control processes and techniques, clean rooms, laminar flow environments, FOE/FOD, etc.

Familiarity with 6S and lean procedures expected.

Proven ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures needed. Ability to read, interpret and understand written or oral requirements, procedures and specifications to perform assigned tasks.

Requires the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the work team and those contacted in the course of work.

Requires the ability and willingness to work other shifts and overtime as necessary.

Must be able to be trained and become certified in clean-room monitor within the first 3 months of employment.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel items. The employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:: 24.52 - 33.97 per hour Note about pay range:: Pay range for this job level is a general guideline only for California and/or Washington State and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
