Beyond just design skill, our Environmental Designer needs to be a strong communicator who can talk through design rationale with clients and ask pointed questions to find creative solutions to complicated and detailed programs.

The job
This Environmental Designer will provide internal resources needed to deliver a broad mix of capabilities including, but not limited to:
  • Experiential Strategy Concepting & Ideation
  • Storytelling
  • Proposal and RFP Response
  • Environmental Design, Illustrations & 3-D Renderings
  • Graphic Design
Responsibilities
  • Maintaining high standards on program graphics/ both graphic design and application; responding to creative requests that entail discussing creative options and deadlines; working with Traffic Manager to secure, brief and manage resources to assure deadlines are met
  • Working directly with copywriters and other designers to assemble graphic/environmental comps
  • (Client-focused) Supporting RFP responses through the brainstorming and development of conceptual ideas while helping guide the development of presentation renderings including illustrations and graphic design comps for exhibits, environments and all visual communications
  • Expressing ideas clearly and enthusiastically to internal peers and clients alike through written and verbal formats
  • Direct development of assigned presentation materials on all levels, such as brainstorming, sketching, typesetting, layouts, etc.
  • Space Planning/3D Rendering
  • Developing emotional, high-quality and high-impact renderings using modern 3D modelling, mapping, texturing and lighting techniques.
  • Providing scaled and dimensioned line drawings as needed to submit for pricing and construction to our fabricators
  • Adjusting modeling and rendering techniques to fit the requirements of the deliverables, from stylized shaded sketches to highly photo-realistic polished renderings
  • Assisting in maintaining a library of frequently-used models to assist with projects on short timelines
  • Must be fluent in best practices and techniques in the fields of spatial planning, basic interior design, event or entertainment design, computer modelling and large-format environmental branding
  • Must be willing to learn alternate 3D modelling and rendering software as well as work across multiple platforms, project dependent
Requirements
  • Complete and up-to-date online portfolio
  • Two (2) or more years equivalent work experience as exhibit, environmental or set design
  • At least one (1) year of experiential design, outdoor event, or multi-disciplined program related work
  • Ability to multi-task in a highly productive, fast-paced environment
  • Must be proficient in Adobe apps and be fluent in MS Office, Word, and PPT
  • Must be proficient in Cinema 4D or similar 3D Modeling
  • Multiple proficiencies a bonus.
