Engineering at Equi

Software engineering at Equi is about making it as easy and seamless as possible to invest in alternative investments.  We work in small cross-functional teams, we value code quality, learning quickly, and personal growth through collaboration and challenge. We pride ourselves on having a great developer experience and put a lot of effort into making it easy to get work done on a daily basis.

Equi is a hybrid environment, we have remote co-workers across the USA as well as a hub-office in New York City.  This is a remote role with expectations of working between Pacific and Eastern hours, inclusive. 

The Impact You’ll Make

We believe in empowering our teams to own all aspects of bringing Equi to life. As such, you’ll get the opportunity to make key contributions across our engineering stack - this includes developing and improving products, infrastructure and frameworks across our frontend and backend software services, in addition to making direct contributions to your team’s product area and business goals.

The Senior Software Engineer role at Equi will have a stake in all aspects of the product - from coming up with the next big ideas to build, to helping set expectations and plan roadmaps, to understanding the impact of new features through rigorous data analysis. As your career at Equi develops, you’ll also get the chance to hire, manage and mentor new team members, and grow your role towards what you’re most passionate about.

Own: what is this person singularly responsible for?

• Implement the core frontend user experience of the Equi platform

• Contribute to the foundations that power the Equi marketing site

• Integrate with APIs from backend and third party services

• Provide creative ideas and feedback from the lens of the user

Assist: what will this person be involved in, or collaborating with other individuals + teams on?

• Work with the internal teams to update website and admin dashboards

• Optimize components and build infrastructure scale the app better

• Manage testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines and monitoring of the app

Knowledge: what experience does this person need to possess?

• 4+ years experience developing frontend applications using React

• Technologies that we expect you to be experienced with / have mastery of for this role
