The Equipment Maintenance Manager Opportunity:
We are looking for an Equipment Maintenance Manager who will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment and building the Preventative Maintenance Program from scratch. Our Equipment Maintenance Manager will apply technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics.
The Equipment Maintenance Manager is also the first-responding problem solver who manages machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. The Equipment Maintenance Manager will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed.

Compensation:
$120,000 - $140,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
In this Role, You Will:

Direct leadership of the maintenance crews covering a 2-shift operating capability.

Be responsible for manpower management: day to day line support, in-house repair work, vacation, OT & weekend work scheduling.

Be responsible for making or improving different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible -

This may include jigs, fixtures, clamps or molds to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the engineering solution.

Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production

Carry out engineering level changes to tools and modifications

Good fabrication skills - Welding, cutting, Drilling , assembling, tuning, mechanics

Define daily tasks and setting directions for the team

Interact with Production and Engineering Groups

Interact with customer departments and managers

Be responsible for the standard development and creation of procedures and methods
-
Project manage: both internal maintenance projects, and minor contractor projects.

Own procedures & Preventative Maintenance, developing & maintaining proper documentation of all necessary procedures; periodic maintenance tasks; equipment changes (electrical, spare parts upgrades, mechanical), etc.

Assist with budget development and reporting

Maintain spare parts inventory. Identify and order needed parts, maintain a tracking system

Train and direct the training of maintenance associates to support production requirements
Qualifications:
Requirements, Knowledge, Experience:
-
Machine shop maintenance experience preferred
-
7+ years of experience in maintenance / equipment management / leadership role
-
5+ years of extensive experience with troubleshooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance - breakdowns and failures

Experience in team building, coaching and succession planning for technical and engineering personnel
-
Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment on a journeyman level. Experience within a department is a plus

CNC, welding equipment, cranes, and the 3-D printer for now, with more to come

Lean manufacturing skills and systems development

Project management experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
