Job Description Summary
The School of Professional Studies (SPS) aims to deliver a compelling Graduate Certificate program in Ethical and Inclusive Leadership that equips leaders with skills and competencies for building workplaces where all employees feel valued and respected and are empowered to make meaningful contributions with integrity. Building such workplaces requires that leaders understand the perceptual, institutional, social, and emotional processes that impact how people interact with each other. Because of this, learners in the program will investigate ethical perspectives that inform and shape inclusive leadership. The program design focuses on inclusive leadership, empathic and moral decision-making, and DEI-centered learning. These foci are embedded in all courses.

SPS is the newest school of Wake Forest University. SPS houses innovative graduate degree and non-degree programs, including certificates and other credentials, for working professionals, as well as relevant Executive Education courses. SPS is focused on developing accessible and market-relevant programs that build upon Wake Forest’s current areas of strength as well as delivering future professional development education that is essential to the growing economy of Charlotte, where the School is located, and the surrounding region.

  • Create and execute ethics-oriented organizational plans to address workplace challenges with equitable and inclusive policies and practices.
  • Apply ethical and inclusive tools, including conflict management, that enable leaders to examine the complexities of ethical challenges, elevate diversity, equity, and inclusion, and cultivate an ethical and inclusive organizational culture.
Courses in the certificate program include:
  • Moral and Ethical Dimensions of Inclusive leadership
  • Decision Making and Conflict Management
  • Shaping an Ethical and Inclusive Organization
Candidates will have a master’s degree in ethics, leadership, or a related field (terminal degree preferred) and at least five years of related professional experience. Preferred applicants also will have a demonstrated ability to design and deliver graduate-level, online course experiences that are valued by industry. With the targeted audience for this program being adult students pursuing career growth, the University seeks to hire colleagues who are highly skilled in and/or highly attuned to adult learning best practices.
