Job Description

Position Summary:

Performing technical audit of GC/MS volatiles data in a timely manner with zero defects as a goal; acting as a technical resource to the department; evaluating issues in technical data and suggesting possible solutions; performing sample/QC verification in the LIMS; reviewing analytical reports, evaluating and interpreting analytical results; writing and revising SOPs; assisting in responding to and eliminating ICARs; making recommendations for technical improvements, communicating effectively within the department; completing assigned tasks on time; assisting in "brainstorming" client problems and projects; performing all duties with minimal supervision. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Apply GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility; as appropriate 
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Perform technical audit of the data
  • Review corrections of data
  • Analyze errors and provide feedback constructively
  • Suggest solutions to technical data issues
  • Follow flow of work through audit to verification 
  • Read, understand, and carry out SOPs required by EPA or company methods, governing agencies, clients, and our internal QC department
  • Upload data
  • Troubleshoot basic upload issues
  • Verify data in LIMS
  • Review analytical reports
  • Understand and use the LIMS, databases, and other software in a Windows-based environment 
  • Write/revise SOPs that conform to company and regulatory requirements 
  • Work on special projects as assigned, including ability to consult with clients on technical problems
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

This role is 3rd shift, 11pm - 7:30am M-F. 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Previous experience in a lab setting, or coursework that included a lab setting 
  • Two years of GC/MS and/or Air testing experience preferred 

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Pay range: $18-20/hour 

Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
