Job Description

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a biochemist/cell biologist to help expand biochemical and immunological assays applied to immunology and immunogenicity at our client site in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate may be responsible for independently designing and performing experiments with the goal of understanding and assessing immunogenicity of biological drugs and will ultimately generate datasets to inform predictive models of antigen-specific immune response.

 

Employee Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic tasks to support tissue culture and maintenance of immune competent cell lines
  • Perform basic cell-based assays with immunology research-related technologies (e.g. human whole blood, primary human leukocyte isolation, cellular activation and differentiation, FACS, cytokine assay, etc.)
  • Perform experiments to characterize protein-protein interactions using PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA & SPR technologies
  • Work with a cross-disciplinary team for data analysis
  • Independently execute experiments, analyze, interpret, and present experimental data

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar discipline with 1-3+ of research experience in an academic institute, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in running biochemical and immunological assays 
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship 

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • M.S. in biology, genetics, molecular and cellular immunology, or a related biological area.
  • FACS research technologies and analysis
  • Experience in general cell culture, functional cell-based assays, or handling primary cells
  • Experience with assessment of innate immune cell activation and/or antigen-specific immune response
  • Consistent and careful attention to detail
