Indianapolis, IN OR Reston, VA

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events & Exhibitions Officer. In this role you will refine existing program management skills, you work on projects as part of a team, but will also lead projects and teams yourself, influence internally and externally and create an environment for business success. You will gain experience of working with external agencies in the marketing domain and be working with a team with broad domain experience. You will expand both your internal network in Rolls-Royce plc and develop an external network with marketing counterparts in industry.

Domestic and international travel will be required in this role and will include weekend working.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Program managing VIP level visits, communicating with all levels of management including Defence Leadership Team (DLT).
  • Supporting the effective operation of customer hosting facilities, where they are owned by the Strategic Marketing team, including support of the management of key event equipment.
  • Being part of a team to deliver high caliber events and leading the delivery of assigned events including exhibitions, corporate hospitality and other special one-off events involving external guests. This may include physical and virtual events.
  • Promoting the brand in the appropriate way, in terms of visual impact and business code of conduct.
  • Being involved in working relationship with internal departments and external suppliers including marketing agencies, integrators, and customer organizations
  • Ability to use key systems such as MS dynamics, MS planner, MS teams, Coupa and office applications.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Event Management with 3+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Event Management and 1+ year of experience
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in events and exhibitions
  • In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Be a highly organized, self-starter, with strong planning skills and ability to prioritize under pressure, to deliver, manage, and coordinate several projects and activities simultaneously to tight timescales
  • Have experience of working in and leading small teams to achieve business goals
  • Have experience of working with external stakeholders and understanding of how uphold our brand values
  • Effective communication/presentation skills, both written and oral, with the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Some creative and marketing skill to be used to generate ideas and to lead projects
