This is a great role for a seasoned communications team leader with a proven track record of building effective internal communications and employee engagement strategies, and in developing compelling communications programs that enhance an organization’s culture, drives growth, strengthens reputation and builds the brand. If you are a connector and a builder who thrives in roles where the work combines strategic thinking with rapid response, creativity and collaborative problem-solving you’d do well leading the internal communications team aligned to EY’s large, diverse and fast-moving Americas Consulting service line. This role requires experience managing complex, campaigns that engage and inspire corporate employees around a company’s mission, leadership principles, business objectives, and other service line priorities.Your key responsibilitiesYou’ll be expected to manage the day to day internal communications function for Americas Consulting. You will be responsible for building and cultivating strong trusted advisor relationships with key internal stakeholders to provide communications support to meet approved business goals and objectives. Frequently “at the table” with leadership when key business issues are discussed, you will liaise with Americas and Global Consulting and BMC Leaders to drive consistent messaging and provide strategic and impactful communications that engage and inform more than 25,000 Americas Consulting professionals. You will be responsible for devising and executing an internal communications strategy and plan, managing a team of 5 or more people and agency teams, overseeing the internal communications & engagement budget, advising leadership and reporting on the results and value derived from communication efforts.Skills and attributes for success• Ability to develop a comprehensive, targeted and streamlined communications and content strategy, including annual communications plans, calendars, timelines and budgets to meet strategic objectives• Provide direction for our distinctive Consulting at EY communications for internal audiences• Demonstrated experience in creating impactful change management messaging platforms• Develop, streamline and create email messages, daily articles, webcasts, video and audio messaging, internal communication campaigns, etc.• Ability to present complex ideas and anticipate potential challenges. Leveraging experience, insight and creativity to influence others to consider innovative solutions by presenting alternative ideas• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, including the ability to select, manage and develop a team of internal communications professionals• Leverage extensive experience and deep insight to deftly advise and influence leadership on the optimal use of communications and channels, share best practices, build the business and create a shared and inspirational vision• Technical: Excellent written and verbal communications skills.• Results-driven: Delivers on EY’s, Consulting’s and BMC’s strategic priorities; aligns communications with EY’s goals and communicates the Consulting value proposition.• Talent development: Proactively develops others; sees learning, feedback and development as a critical input to delivering exceptional client service to BMC clients; seeks to inspire.• Be a point of integration: Enables knowledge sharing throughout Consulting, BMC and EY; has the ability to synthesize information from others; connects all facets of the business when initiating, developing and implementing Communication programs; helps the business address its big issues; serves as an organizational connector.• Problem solving/conceptual thinking: Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to drive organizational performance and add value to the business.• Agile, dynamic and willing to go the extra mile.To qualify for the role you should have• 10-12 years of communications experience with a global organization and/or complex organization, with a focus on Internal Communications and Engagement.• Able to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward, concise and easily digestible manner for broad audiences.• Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders.• Mastery of written and oral communications skills• Excellent presentation and project management skills• Ability to assume leadership role for large projects and identify and manage key resources needed to execute• Capable of maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times when dealing with sensitive or proprietary information• Experience in managing and coaching communications professionals, and teaming across business units• Experience designing and executing large scale internal in-person and virtual eventsIdeally, you’ll also• Be a leader, team player, and proactive professional who works and thinks strategically, while guiding the team at the tactical level to deliver high-value communications results.• Have the ability to explore innovative uses of technology to achieve goals and stay at forefront of best-in- class communications practice• Be able to monitor and measure tracking data to ensure effectiveness of all plans and adjust as needed• Be comfortable collaborating with colleagues Globally to promote consistency knowledge sharing and best practices• Have basic video and audio editing skillsWhat working at EY offersWe offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $130,500 to $274,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $163,100 to $285,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
