We are seeking highly skilled Synthetic Aperture Radar Annotation Specialists to support our team in analyzing and annotating SAR imagery for diverse applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality labeled data for machine learning models, geospatial analysis, and operational decision-making. Candidates must live in the local area; this is not a full-time remote opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and annotate SAR imagery for specific use cases, including but not limited to object detection, change detection, and feature classification
  • Develop and maintain standardized annotation guidelines and protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with geospatial analysts, data scientists, and domain experts to refine SAR datasets for model training and evaluation
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews of annotated data and provide feedback to improve labeling workflows
  • Use software tools for data annotation, image segmentation, and feature extraction
  • Assist in the development of automated or semi-automated annotation tools and processes
  • Maintain a database of annotated SAR imagery and metadata for easy retrieval and analysis


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of SAR principles, including radar image interpretation and processing
  • Experience in annotating SAR data or other remote sensing imagery
  • Proficiency in geospatial software and tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI)
  • Attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • U.S. citizenship


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts, particularly in computer vision
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python, especially for image processing tasks
  • Background in applications of SAR imagery, such as disaster management, defense, or environmental monitoring
  • Familiarity with data annotation tools
  • Active Security Clearance
