Financial Planning and Analysis Sr. Specialist

Chemonics International is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Sr. Specialist within the Finance and Administration Division. The FP&A Sr. Specialist has a key role in the coordination, consolidation, and review of the yearly corporate budget exercise, including preparation of the company’s yearly profit plan; supports the monthly reforecasting exercise of regional and corporate projections; and prepares different financial reports and statements at the project, regional, and corporate levels, including monthly financial statements. As required by the treasurer, the chief financial officer, and others, the financial planning and analysis Sr. Specialist builds analytical tools, performs varied financial analysis to enhance the decision-making process and has a strong worth ethic along with problem solving skills to meet the role’s demands and challenges. The position requires effective management of reporting personnel and relationships with various stakeholders for successful business support. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducts periodic internal financial reporting, annual corporate budgeting, and valuation processes by developing budgeting framework, tools, templates, guidelines, roles and responsibilities, and processes
  • Operationalizes the annual corporate budgeting and valuation processes by designing and implementing appropriate tools, processes, and guidance
  • Develops and implements annual work plan for the financial planning and analysis team that supports the company’s strategic and operational financial data analysis needs, including developing and publishing corporate financial performance metrics
  • Develops analytical models and performs financial analysis to enhance the decision-making process of the executive management team and the front office
  • Coordinates with other data leads of the company to identify financial data trends and advise company leadership on opportunities and risks
  • Leads the financial planning and analysis team on the various pro-forma financial statements and reports preparation and distribution on a periodic basis, assists in developing the team’s capacity through training
  • Supports the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer in preparation and submission of the Annual Corporate Profit Plan
  • Develops tools, approaches, and processes leveraging existing systems or deploying add-ons, reporting tools, etc.:
    • Consolidations/consolidated financial statements
    • Intercompany reporting
    • Budgeting for multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional, GAAP and IFRs
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand, gather, document requirements for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting tools. Develops new and/or improves existing tools to meet stakeholder needs
  • Creates and improves dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to achieve team and corporate objectives
  • Approaches problem solving collaboratively and collectively with senior staff and internal and external clients to achieve mutually beneficial results
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and provides guidance and training to regional financial analysts, PMU members, and other company staff in financial management topics, reporting platforms, and other relevant tools
  • Continuously identifies opportunities for process improvement, and takes the initiative to lead or provide support to any green-light process improvement efforts to completion
  • Serves as the main liaison between Chemonics and the corporate reporting platform support vendor
  • Performs duties consistent with full understanding of Chemonics requirements, policies and procedures, tools, quality standards, and broader Chemonics’ goals that drive business results
  • Manages relationships with the internal and external clients, vendors, partners, and consultants that serve to enhance Chemonics’ reputation
  • Oversees the audit, ad hoc reporting and other FP&A initiatives
  • Advises senior management of FP&A matters; communicates information clearly and concisely across a broad functional audience, including the Board of Directors
  • Conducts all tasks in accordance with government and/or other appropriate contracting requirements
  • Completes other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as Finance or Accounting, required; Master’s degree in finance or business administration desired
  • Minimum 5 years of administrative and/or technically relevant work experience, including financial management responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting and indirect rates management is preferred
  • Advanced-level user of technology including MS Office applications, especially Excel including Excel solver, pivot tables, and macros. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, DeFacto, VBA, SQL, Cognos TM1, Power BI and SharePoint preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills and ability to manage large volume data
  • Strong communication skills in distilling complex financial data and reporting it to non-finance background users at executive level
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from executive level to build consensus around complex financial reporting and performance metrics
  • Must be detail oriented and can multi-task and work independently while being a team player with a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Performs duties consistent with full understanding of Chemonics requirements, policies and procedures, tools, quality standards, and broader Chemonics’ internal and external client strategic goals
  • Demonstrate willingness to take on challenges and work toward continued process improvements to foster and implement an environment of efficiency
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal excellence, ethical behavior, integrity and accountability
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
  • Fluency in a foreign language is preferred but not required

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $84,320 - $105,400.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
