UX Designer

First Resonance is looking for a UX Designer to join our Los Angeles based team. You will directly impact our customer experience strategies while partnering creatively and strategically with a cross-functional team. Your innovative user experience flows will empower engineers and technicians to more efficiently build the future of hardware.

With this role, you will join a diverse team with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. We pride ourselves on being fast learners, quick-thinkers, and agile executors. While a spur-of-the-moment ping pong tournament is occasionally required, our number one priority is always assisting our ION customers with our manufacturing platform. Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Bring a rich user experience to people building physical products in complex workflows; Give rocket scientists superpowers!

  • Visualize complex factories with insight-driven workflows with unique interfaces to help people do their jobs better with geospatial interfaces

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with some of the smartest (and nicest) people in the industry. Day-to-day you'll work closely with Front-End Engineers, Product Managers, Customer Success, and Marketing experts to champion the user experience in our application and ship high-quality work

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve our existing product. Contribute to the overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.

  • Use data as a starting point for trying out new initiatives. Conduct user research to get feedback on your work, use data and testing to improve your design

  • Research, create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals

  • Tackle interesting, complex problems. Working closely with your engineering and product partners, you'll have a large amount of ownership and autonomy across the entire design process; rather than just design individual features, you'll have the opportunity to define the end-to-end experience.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally designing complex or enterprise-level software

  • A great portfolio showcasing both web and mobile design projects

  • A customer-centric mindset to understand, frame, and solve problems

  • Ability to define projects and measures of success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporate feedback

  • Expertise in Figma and other design and research tools

  • Comfortable leading a large project with Product and Engineering

  • Love tackling ambiguous problems and shaping them into clear goals

  • Be technically-minded, interested in code as the material digital products are made of

  • Experience in following agile product development methodologies

  • Excitement about envisioning the future of our customer experience

  • Previous experience building UI design systems (e.g. Atomic Design)

  • Experience in UX research methods (e.g. card sorting, usability testing, user interviews)

  • Continuous growth mindset across industry UX trends (e.g. Information Architecture (IA))
