The Opportunity 

Flock is looking to add a Senior Product Manager who will develop the overall strategy for our audio detection devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and design, to develop and execute a comprehensive audio strategy. Your expertise will drive the development and launch of innovative, market-leading gunshot detection solutions that meet the needs of our customers and drive the company's audio growth.

The Skillset 

  • 5+ years of experience in product management

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams

  • Domain experience in audio based products or hardware devices 

  • Nice to have background of physical security products and Machine Learning

  • Strong product strategy sense, to ensure we focus on the most important priorities for the customer and the business

  • Strong technical acumen and ability to work closely with engineering teams

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, right-sizing process to enable the team and managing expectations across various stakeholders

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product plans.

90 Days at Flock

We are a results-oriented culture and believe job descriptions are a thing of the past. We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a Product Manager at Flock Safety.

The First 30 Days

  • Meet the team for 1:1s & build context, and learn about our products and services

  • Review the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog for each audio products 

  • Get familiar with the product development process, the tools, the metrics, and the best practices.

  • Schedule and attend relevant meetings to build relationships and learn from others

  • Identify the key stakeholders and establish regular communication channels with them.

The First 60 Days

  • Start to understand the competitive landscape 

  • Define and prioritize the product goals, objectives, and key results (OKRs) for the next quarter.

  • Update the product roadmap and backlog for each product line, based on user research, customer feedback, and market trends.

  • Collaborate with Program Managers & Engineering to plan and execute the roadmap 

  • Monitor and analyze the product performance, user behavior, and feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement and growth 

The First 90 Days 

  • Understand and reflect on OKR’s, Roadmap and strategy for Audio devices. 

  • Solicit and provide feedback to the team, and the stakeholders, and implement the action items for improvement and development.

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to map out the overall strategy for Audio devices and strategy. 

  • Explore and experiment with new product ideas, technologies, and methodologies, and validate them with the users and customers.

  • Initiate and lead cross-functional projects and initiatives that can add value and solve problems for the company and the customers.

The Interview Process 

We want our interview process to be a true reflection of our culture: transparent and collaborative. Throughout the interview process, your recruiter will guide you through the next steps and ensure you feel prepared every step of the way. 

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are. 

  2. Product Manager Interview: You will meet with Product leadership to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. You should expect the interview will cover your product experience, guiding strategy, stakeholder communication, & launch experience. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field. 

  3. Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.

  4. The Executive Review: An opportunity to meet leaders within the Product organization. They will be looking to get to know you better, understand your motivations, and understand your background. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more. 

Salary & Equity

In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $165,000-190,000 as well as stock options.
