We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist to contribute to materials innovation as a part of the CTO organization. The ideal candidate will have strong educational background in Polymer/Green Chemistry to conduct independent research for application specific materials innovation and IP. The position involves design, synthesis, and characterization of novel polymers, green chemistry pathways for sustainability in Billerica R&D Labs, collaborating with cross-divisional technical teams. This position is in the office of the CTO, reporting to Sr. Director, Emerging Materials Research Development.
In this role you will:
- Explore novel materials and chemistry for PFA and PTFE resin alternatives.
- Investigate green chemistry and biodegradable pathways for targeted applications
- Investigate sustainable polymers for porous membranes for their use in semiconductor filtration product technologies.
- Lead strategic research collaborations to explore novel polymer platforms
- Engage with cross-divisional teams to drive technology innovation and achieve sustainability goals.
- Contribute strongly to the IP and technology innovation
- Be an exemplary model of Entegris PACE values
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry /Polymer Chemistry /Green Chemistry
- 5-10 years professional experience in membrane science / polymer chemistry/ Green chemistry
- Hands-on experience in synthesizing functional polymers for advanced membrane applications.
- Ability to lead research collaborations with technical depth
- An independent thinker and could take on assignments with broad objectives where guidance is provided only on critical issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
