THE ROLE:
We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Director of Enterprise Systems to lead and drive the IT, security, and procurement functions within the company. This individual will be responsible for executing the IT strategy, overseeing security protocols, and managing both hardware and software procurement. As a key leader, the Director will also act as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, and will have oversight of an offshore IT helpdesk team supporting night and weekend operations. This role requires an on-site presence 4 days a week in Austin, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Strategy Execution: Drive the company’s IT strategy, aligning it with business goals and future growth. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Security Management: Oversee comprehensive security initiatives covering on-premises IT security, cloud security, and infrastructure security. Lead incident response planning, execution, and regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Data Privacy and Compliance: Act as the Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Develop and implement policies for data privacy, and oversee data handling practices across the organization.
Procurement Oversight: Manage procurement processes for hardware and software, negotiating contracts and ensuring alignment with company needs and cost-effectiveness. Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize service value.
Asset Management Tool Implementation: Lead the deployment of a new asset management tool, establishing processes for efficient asset tracking and management across the organization.
Office Relocation Coordination: Oversee IT-related aspects of the upcoming office move, working with facilities and external partners to ensure a seamless transition to the new location.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and grow the IT, security, and procurement teams, establishing clear goals and performance metrics. Identify skill gaps and provide training opportunities for team development.
Vendor Management and Performance Evaluation: Cultivate relationships with vendors for IT and security services, managing contracts and delivery timelines. Continuously assess vendor performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Budget and Financial Management: Manage the IT budget, aligning spending with strategic priorities and identifying opportunities for cost efficiency.
Policy Development and Enforcement: Create, implement, and enforce policies for IT operations, data management, and security. Regularly review and update policies to meet best practices and compliance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with departments such as HR, Marketing, and Operations to address their technology needs and support organizational goals.
Offshore IT Helpdesk Management: Oversee an offshore IT helpdesk team, ensuring efficient handling of back-office tasks and providing 24/7 support for night and weekend coverage.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and execute comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate downtime and maintain data integrity.
Technology Advocacy and Adoption: Champion technology initiatives within the organization, promoting tools and systems that enhance productivity and collaboration.
Performance Metrics and Continuous Improvement: Define KPIs for IT services and continuously track performance to drive improvement and alignment with business objectives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
IT Strategy and Infrastructure Management: Proven experience in developing and executing IT strategies that align with business needs.
Cybersecurity: Deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices across on-premises, cloud, and infrastructure environments. Experience with security compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
Data Privacy Compliance: Knowledge of data protection regulations and experience implementing privacy policies as a Data Protection Officer. Knowledge of systems such as Trustarc, Osano, Crowdstrike etc..
Procurement and Asset Management: Familiarity with asset management tools and expertise in procurement processes.
Cloud Systems and Network Security: Proficiency with platforms such as AWS, Cisco Meraki, VMware, and network security protocols.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide mentorship to senior IT staff.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills, with a track record of managing complex projects within tight timelines.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical information to executive leadership and teams.
Problem-solving and Strategic Thinking: Analytical skills with a strategic mindset, capable of aligning technology initiatives with long-term business objectives.
