University Dining Services is looking for Food Service Worker 3s for full-time positions.

The Position:
Food Service Worker 3 is a 10-month position with the possibility of being extended over the summer months due to campus and conference business

Perform a variety of food preparation, customer service and food service activities like preparing simple foods to meet customers’ preferences, cashiering, making coffee drinks, washing dishes, stocking restaurants, etc. while maintaining a positive attitude.

About Dining Services
University Housing & Dining Services (UHDS) houses over 4,800 students and offers a variety of living and dining options in 15 residence halls, three dining centers, a market, catering, and 10-14 convenience and coffee shop locations across the Corvallis campus. We employ over 150 professional dining employees and 800 student employees. We provide clean, sanitary working environments for our guests and employees that are regularly maintained and serviced. And we partner with Benton County Health to help ensure we are operating at the highest safety levels. Everyone is welcome to eat at any dining location on campus, so come check us out.

What We Require

Three years of experience in a commercial food service facility; OR an Associate’s Degree in Food Service Management.



What You Will Need
  • Good customer service skills, with both internal and external customers.


  • Requires a valid Food Handler’s certificate within 30 days of employment. Must maintain certification throughout service with UHDS.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Physical Working Conditions:
This is a physically active job in a kitchen and retail environment. Incumbent will experience long periods of standing on a hard floor; working with commercial kitchen/baking equipment; and fluctuations in work flow, temperature and noise level.
The employee in this position will often be required to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and push and/or pull carts weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule:
Shift and/or work assignments may be changed based on operational needs.
We are a seven days a week operation, so early morning, evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.
Good attendance is crucial for stability and day-to-day business needs. Must follow attendance schedule and break schedule, and must be on time and in uniform when shift begins.
Employees in this position may be moved from front of house to back of house or vice versa, per term and with advance notice, as based on business needs.
This position is deemed essential; and the incumbent is expected to report to work during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures.
Will require work in areas that prepare and handle raw meat, as well as most common food allergens, including gluten.
