About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on technical leader to drive the design, implementation, and operational excellence of our cloud platform to support our industry-leading diagnostic test. The Cloud Engineering and Operations Manager will play a key role in shaping the strategy for our internal DevOps infrastructure and commercial product operations while contributing directly to their execution. This position bridges technical vision with day-to-day implementation, requiring both foresight and the ability to dive into the details.

The ideal candidate is a passionate builder and innovator who can work cross-functionally to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. As an integral part of the organization, you will collaborate closely with the IT, Engineering and Scientific team to align infrastructure and operational goals with business needs.

This position is flexible for fully onsite, hybrid, or remote work, with quarterly travel to our Colorado headquarters expected for remote candidates.

What You Will Do: 

Technical Leadership and Execution

Design, implement, and manage robust, scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS and GCP.

Lead the adoption of modern DevOps practices to enable self-sufficient development teams.

Build and maintain internal tools that enhance efficiency and system performance.

Implement and oversee cybersecurity measures to ensure the protection of cloud infrastructure and data.

Strategic Planning and Vision

Develop and execute a roadmap for cloud and DevOps operations aligned with company goals and information security regulation.

Create cost optimization strategies and manage the full data lifecycle across platforms.

Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that infrastructure supports evolving product and business needs.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

Serve as a trusted technical advisor to internal stakeholders, bridging technical solutions with business objectives.

Work closely with IT and Engineering leadership to implement infrastructure that integrates seamlessly across the technology stack.

Manage 3rd parties involved in cloud datacenter operations.

Operational Excellence

Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of systems through proactive monitoring and response.

Drive development and implementation of automation scripts, tools and leveraging infrastructure as code (IaC) practices. 

Conduct post-incident analyses and implement improvements to minimize future risks.

Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.

What You Will Bring: 

Minimum of 3 years’ experience specifically managing teams focused on DevOps and/or Cloud based engineering.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience using AWS and GCP cloud products in a production environment

Strong technical skills, with a focus on infrastructure automation and scaling.

Ability to dissect complicated technical problems, simplify experiences and innovate on behalf of our internal and external partners through demonstrated automation.

Excellent leadership skills including ability to manage FTE and contract staff remotely across multiple locations, time zones.

Desired Qualities: 

Experience in the life sciences or other scientific domain

Experience working in a regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, or GxP compliance).

Compensation & Benefits

This role is offering a salary between $125,000 - $195,000 and is eligible for equity offerings. Foresight offers benefits including paid vacation, sick time, and parental leave (if applicable), alongside medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, and a 401k with company match.
