Job Summary
We need to find top talent to ensure our distribution center’s success. The forklift maintenance technician will be responsible for maintaining the forklift machinery to ensure quality machines in the warehouse. Observe, test, and repair equipment as needed. The ideal candidate is focused on quality, safety, and productivity. We are looking for a team player with a great attitude who can find humor anywhere and help us meet increasing demand as we grow. This job is not limited to forklift maintenance but also assisting in facilities maintenance as necessary.
Required Skills

Performs minor mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs.

Responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions in work area or equipment to supervisor.

Responsible for maintaining a steady flow of equipment into and out of the shop, with the help of other shop personnel.

Helps to maintain the entire company material handling equipment fleet.

Communicate in a timely manner with your co-workers about any relevant warehouse business, equipment out of service, special part handling instructions, attending meetings, taking a lunch break.

Gather, load and unload materials through lifting and/or Power Industrial Vehicles

Cleaning and maintaining a clean and organized work area, including machinery.

Makes appropriate equipment repairs or modifications to solve operating and performance problems as dictated by the analysis of the employees’ equipment.

Performing facility maintenance tasks, routine preventive maintenance, and equipment testing as assigned

Electrical systems – change out ballast, light switches, and fuses.

Inspects, diagnoses and isolates vehicle and equipment malfunctions.

Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems in industrial material handling and other related equipment.

Perform routine and operational maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run according to manufacturer's specifications.

Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns.

Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
- Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions.
- Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.
- Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.
- Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation.
- Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor.
- Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.
- Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.
- Competent to complete legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks.
- Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.
Qualifications

2 years of Forklift Maintenance experience; 1 year required.
