Eddi is hiring a Founding Engineer!

Join us remotely and build the intelligent assistant for government-funded organizations. Starting with education, Eddi is building an AI-powered platform to drive organizational impact by linking organizational goals to outcomes.

With the help of AI, we are starting by reducing the tedious, manual aspects of the federal and competitive grants process for administrative stakeholders to ensure that every dollar is spent strategically.

About the Role

As a Founding Engineer at Eddi, you will be instrumental in bringing our vision to life from day one. Working closely with our CEO, CTO, designer, and other engineers, you’ll develop and refine the product iteratively, ensuring reliability and delighting our customers.

You’ll tackle full-stack challenges that stretch your technical, creative, and product skills. As Eddi grows, you’ll have the opportunity to step into a technical leadership role, mentoring new engineers, shaping the engineering culture, and guiding our platform’s architectural evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the Core Product: Forget legacy codebases. You’re here to define the blueprint, not follow it. Architect, build, test, and maintain front-end and back-end features using React, Next.js, Zilliz, GPT/Gemini, PostgreSQL, and GCP.

• Embrace Startup Agility: Are you tired of corporate bureaucracy? Jump into a fast-paced environment where you can move at lightspeed, experiment fearlessly, and iterate on the fly.

• Deliver Real Impact: Screw “nice-to-haves.” Focus on what customers actually need. Ship features that matter and watch the product come alive in the hands of our users.

• Push the AI Envelope: Keep one foot in the future. Research the latest AI/LLM technologies and integrate them into our platform before everyone else even hears about them.

• Set the Technical Agenda: Your insights will help steer the ship. Influence everything from architecture to hiring, becoming a key voice in defining where we go next.

• Keep it Clean & Lean: No bloated code. Implement top-notch reviews, quality checks, and testing to keep our engine running smoothly.

• Own the Outcome: When issues arise, you don’t pass the buck; you fix it. Make customers happy, keep the machine humming, and celebrate the wins.

Candidate Background

• Hands-On Hacker:

  • 3+ years of experience building production-grade web applications across the stack.

  • Proficiency with at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and one back-end language (e.g., Python, Node.js).

• AI-Obsessed: You’re pumped about next-gen AI and LLMs, using them to automate workflows and generally blow people’s minds.

• Killer Product Instinct: You get that writing shiny code won’t mean a thing if it doesn’t solve a user’s problem. You think in terms of customer value, always.

• Startup DNA: Comfortable wearing multiple hats, making swift decisions, and thriving amidst ambiguity and rapid change.

• Quality & Reliability: Great products stand the test of time. You’re serious about building something you’re proud to show off.

• Team Player, Straight Shooter: Communicate openly and collaborate. We’re building something big, and we do it together.

• Bonus Points: Familiarity with scraping tools (Scrapy, Selenium, BeautifulSoup) or interest in using AI copilots to optimize your workflow.

Compensation

• Compensation is a sliding scale of equity and cash compensation, range $110-130k, 0.25 - 0.75% equity
