Reporting to the Head of Distribution USA, the role of Freight Manager is to be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders and 3PLs to improve operational efficiency and reduce transport costs. The position is responsible for ensuring consistency and efficiencies in Supply Chain processes; ensuring timelines and SLAs are adhered to by all transport parties; routing/schedules to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated/achieved; managing and monitoring the performance of the network of logistics service providers through clear KPI’s; and overseeing local tender processes to ensure we are maximising cost in the transport/freight space.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in strategic management of transport of goods
  • Demonstrated/proven experience in stakeholder /vendor management
  • 5+ years of experience in like space/industry/position
  • Ability to understand in-house systems/advanced excel
  • Experience working in a similar (fast-paced) environment
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels in the business – working in a matrix organizational structure where relationships are key to success
  • Exceptional organisation, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Aptitude with numbers and understanding of financial concepts
  • Ability to think both creatively and practically
  • Adopts an energetic, enthusiastic and proactive approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong aptitude for Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
