The role:

Fuel50 is looking for a senior Global Security and Privacy Manager to lead our global security strategy and ensure our continued compliance with industry standards. You will own our security assurance programs (e.g., SOC2), oversee application security, manage vendor relationships, and embed a culture of security across the organization. 

As a senior member of the team, you will work autonomously to define and lead our global security and privacy strategy, ensuring that our processes, systems, and people uphold the highest levels of trust and compliance.

This is a diverse role which encompasses a wide range of tasks, from advising leadership to running training programs and supporting sales with due diligence, this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution.

This role is critical to ensuring Fuel50 remains a trusted partner for enterprise clients, maintaining the highest standards of security, privacy, and compliance as we scale globally. It offers the opportunity to take full ownership of Fuel50’s global security and privacy efforts, working autonomously to shape a best-in-class program. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Own and evolve Fuel50’s global security and privacy program, aligning it with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, ISO 27001).
    • Develop and implement a long-term roadmap for security and privacy initiatives.
    • Act as the primary advisor to leadership on security risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance readiness.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Lead the annual SOC2 certification process, ensuring seamless audits and compliance.
    • Oversee security vendor management, including contract reviews, due diligence, and performance monitoring.
    • Develop and enforce internal security policies and procedures, embedding security into day-to-day operations.
  • Collaboration and Enablement:
    • Support the sales team by managing security and compliance queries during due diligence phases.
    • Partner with engineering to ensure secure application development practices.
    • Drive organization-wide security training and awareness programs to foster a security-first culture.
  • Incident Management:
    • Establish and oversee incident response protocols, ensuring swift resolution of security incidents.
    • Monitor, investigate, and respond to potential security threats across systems and data.

  • Proven Expertise: 8+ years in information security, privacy, or compliance roles, with demonstrated experience leading security assurance programs (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001).
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of application security, cloud security (AWS preferred), and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Leadership Skills: Experience driving organization-wide security initiatives, collaborating across functions, and presenting to senior leadership or clients.
  • Problem Solver: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate complex security challenges.
  • Effective Communicator: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Growth-Oriented: Passionate about learning, staying updated on the latest security trends, and sharing knowledge across the organization.
