We are seeking a IH / Safety Technician to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
Provides support to line managers and facility personnel by assisting health and safety professionals with collection of personnel air samples, swipe and bulk sampling, area sampling, real-time sampling, and inspection of areas or review of operations to ensure compliance with Laboratory and regulatory requirements.
Assist with facilitating implementation of health and safety requirements.
Work may include field, laboratory, and/or data management activities.
Applies extensive knowledge and skills to complete specialized tasks and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused, but usually require contributions of original work.
Responsible for coordination and participation in developing the final product working with the requestor. Incumbent develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, and independence.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, which may be completed without established procedures.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed
Beryllium training, required.
General knowledge regarding IH & Safety.
Experience working with or around sampling efforts.
Understanding of PPE.
General Microsoft Suite knowledge.
Experience dealing well with craft workforce.
