As a Systems Technician, you will be working at the SEC Remote Center in Birmingham, playing a key part in the delivery of our services for the South Eastern Conference - For Basketball, Baseball and Softball.
The role will encompass the management of our replay technology, supporting SEC Officials/Staff and Hawk-Eye staff on-site at stadiums. Your main focus will be to manage the delivery of our software and hardware (remotely), jumping into action whenever a problem arises. You will need to be prepared to work long days throughout the weekend and public holidays as we work whenever College Sport happens.
You will gain exposure to various other services as you grow in the role and become a more experienced member of the team. We will equip you with the technical training, support and full exposure to our systems to perform your day-to-day tasks but also encourage development and progression to help make an impact on what we do.
Setting up Hawk-Eye technology ready for games (testing and configuration of software and hardware)
Conducting pre-game checks of the systems in accordance with standard procedures
Liaising with SEC Staff, school broadcasters, system operators and other Hawk-Eye teams on location
Monitoring the systems during the game - systems both onsite and in the Remote Center
Monitoring hardware and software performances, being able to troubleshoot and report encountered issues
Taking full responsibility for our systems and representing our company to the highest standards
A strong technical grounding
Bright and enterprising with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proactive attitude and ability to work on your own initiative
Time management skills and ability to work in a high-pressure, live sport delivery environment
Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner
Flexible and adaptable to a schedule that is dictated by the fixture list and can change at short notice
Acceptance that the nature of our business means that work is over weekends/federal holidays
Ideally with a degree in a science, technology, mathematics or engineering course or relevant equivalent experience
Bonus experience: Networking, broadcast, live event production
A passion for sports and knowledge of College Sport is a bonus, but not a requirement
