The Senior Mobile Developer is a self-directed practiced developer that is comfortable working in an Agile environment that manages the needs of a variety of Informed Delivery stakeholders, team members, and contractors. Our work depends on a Senior Mobile Developer to work as a member of an Agile team to deliver USPS technical solutions.HOW SENIOR MOBILE DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:• Utilize an iterative development methodology and conduct appropriate Agile ceremonies for all work done under this contract.• User testing and acceptance throughout the development cycle will detect usability issues, missing requirements, and any necessary design changes early in the process.• Identify risks associated with the development of software efforts.• Conduct feasibility/cost-benefit studies, requirements analysis, and life cycle activities.• Collect, develop, and analyze software requirements user story writing workshops.• Consistently evaluate application design and implementation in accordance with Lean process improvement methods.• Formulate a business model identifying the proposed (to-be) business processes.• Develop “use cases” and determine the prescribed set of “artifacts” for each phase of each development cycle.• Develop java applications using a service-oriented architecture and web services.• Conduct usability analysis and assessments.• Adhere to 508 compliance regulations for all development efforts.• Utilize the Government provided 508 reporting tools.• Develop, document, and adhere to effective and appropriate configuration management practices.• Design systems using Agile framework or a similar framework as required by USPS.• Participate in project design specifications and review specifications as needed.• Assist with the development of business needs statements, user stories, acceptance criteria, documentation.• Testing of any software and integration modules using standard USPS tools.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Education:• Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline is required.Required Experience:• 8+ years of related professional IT experience.• Minimum 2+ years’ direct experience as Developer Mobile Native (Android and/or iOS).• Minimum 2+ years’ direct experience in mobile web development using Java.TechnicalExperience:• Demonstrated working knowledge in backend web services, API Integration, and Cloud platforms.• Demonstrated experience with iOS:Fluent in the coding languages of Swift and Objective-C.• Demonstrated experience with Android:Fluent in the coding languages of Kotlin and Java.• Demonstrated knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies.• Demonstrated knowledge/experience of SDLC practices.• Demonstrated knowledge/experience with Change Management.• Work with outside data sources, APIs, bug fixing and improving app performance.Required Skills & Abilities:• Demonstrated experience with Design and Development of mobile applications.• Demonstrated ability to develop applications in a multi-platform environment.• Demonstrated ability to provide graphic design for application user interface.• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.• Demonstrated ability with designing and implementing application updates.• Demonstrated ability in identifying potential problems and resolving application bottlenecks.• Demonstrated ability to research and share industry innovations and trends.• Demonstrated ability with participating in the entire application lifecycle.Security Clearance Level:• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.Location:• On-site at the USPS D.C.
