As a Senior UX Designer at Geoforce, you will be engaged with and advocate for current and future users of our hardware and software products. It’s essential that you’re an excellent communicator and collaborator as most of your time will be spent doing user research, concept and design ideation, and validation as part of an agile multi-disciplinary team focused on a particular set of features & functionality. The remainder of your time will be spent working closely with developers on implementation as well as coordinating with the larger UX team to ensure that design details are being built as intended and are serving users’ needs as anticipated.
Research activities will range widely. You’ll be involved in everything from user and stakeholder interviews and prototype testing to digging through analytics to uncover insights and opportunities.
You’ll need to be well organized and well rounded. Having a good sense of design both from a visual and interaction perspective will be important. You’ll use prototyping tools to design and create layouts and screen interactions that clearly illustrate and communicate proposed functionality of enterprise applications spanning both adaptive web and native mobile solutions.
Daily collaboration with a project team in designing user-focused solutions that solve large, complex, and highly technical problems in simple, consistent, and straight-forward ways.
Conduct research efforts alongside a product manager and development lead to gain a better understanding of our users' wants and needs.
Compile and present discovery insights and user testing results across teams.
Rapidly generate ideas using flow diagrams, user journeys, sketches, wireframes, and quick prototypes to facilitate discussion with the team and validate concepts with both users and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with the UX team to ensure proposed solutions align with design standards and continually strive to maintain consistency across products and platforms.
Contribute to an evolving design system by creating user interface elements and help document usage as our library grows and expands.
Create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how applications function to facilitate both usability testing and internal communications.
Actively participate in daily stand ups with your team and validate that release candidates are built as designed.
Conducting user interviews, writing test plans, scheduling and testing users.
Deep knowledge and experience with design and prototyping software.
Experience designing responsive/adaptive browser-based solutions for content-dense enterprise applications. (bonus for GIS & telematics solutions)
Able to identify usability issues and provide alternative solutions.
Involvement in design system development, usage, and maintenance.
Intermediate knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript libraries. (No coding required)
Native iOS and/or Android design.
Experience with accessibility and WCAG 2.1 compliance.
Motivated self-starter who loves solving complex problems.
Excellent communication and presentation skills both in-person & online.
Minimum 5 years of experience in UX design, preferably within B2B enterprise software or software-as-a-service environments.
Proven experience modernizing and evolving legacy solutions within a technology-focused company is highly desired.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in an area of HCI, design, psychology or other related field, or be able to demonstrate equivalent and relevant experience.
Experience in IoT applications and telematics across a variety of equipment types is a plus.
