Job Duties:
Carry out a sequence of related geology/GIS/engineering tasks. Make preliminary selections and adaptations of geology/engineering alternatives. Use custom GIS geotechnical tools for processing CPTs, making CPT logs, parameter plots and cross sections. Support geotechnical, environmental, water resources and marine survey projects through the use of ArcGIS software in addition to creating, maintaining or modifying ArcGIS databases. Digitize, code, manipulate, and map geologic/engineering data, including scanning and manipulating images, using ESRl's ArcGIS 10.4.1 (or more recent version} software. Use GIS tools in generating maps, plots, and cross sections using field data as well as reading,
creating, and modifying scripts/codes using various programming tools. Perform quality control checks and communicating with clients or other internal entities about GIS deliverables. Calculate engineering parameters, using the CPT log tools to automate processes, utilizing Parameter plot tools to create custom engineering plots, and using Cross Section tools to automate cross section tasks/processes.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
2 years of experience managing, supervising, mentoring, and training junior personnel, handling very large data-sets, visualization and interpretation software, geologic interpretation, using GIS software, GIS and its application including ESRI products, CAD design, MSSQL D/B management, applied geography and projections.
