Global Director of PR

iMerit is a leading AI data solutions company providing high quality data across computer vision, natural language processing and content services that powers machine learning and artificial intelligence applications for large enterprises. iMerit provides end-to-end data labeling services to Fortune 500 companies in a wide array of industries including agricultural AI, autonomous vehicles, commerce, geospatial, government, financial services, medical AI and technology.

We are looking for our first in-house PR hire to help manage our existing PR agencies and drive our PR strategy forward. This is a full-time remote position (based in the USA) that sits within the Marketing organization. The right candidate will also have an opportunity to build the function from the ground up and play a pivotal role in brand awareness, content strategy, positioning and category development.

What You'll Do:

• Develop a global PR strategy inline with the company objectives
• Maintain a consistent brand message and voice of the company across all geographies
• Work closely with executives on media interviews, byline opportunities, and other brand engagements to maximize participation and exposure
• Manage US and International PR agencies to ensure they’re set up for success
• Explore and write articles, blogs, bylines, emails, and pitches
• Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product, and engineering on key messaging for press releases, announcements, media interviews, and events
• Collaborate with the iMerit Events team to create brand awareness and facilitate outreach to journalists for events we participate in and our own flagship industry events.
• Source and work closely with customers and partners on media opportunities, speaking engagements, and industry award submissions
• Turn media coverage into high impact assets for internal and external purposes across a variety of stakeholders
• Stay on top of industry news, trends, and competitor announcements to inform strategy
• Help with brand building and category creation exercises, as needed
• Willingness to work irregular hours due to the global nature of our business.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Extensive agency experience or PR/Corporate Communications experience at a technology company, ideally within the machine learning, artificial intelligence or “big data” industries.
• Experience building, managing, and/or running PR programs and strategies
• Strong on execution and timeline management
• Crisis management and journalist relations, a plus
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
• Agility, resourcefulness, and a problem solving mindset
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment; start-up experience preferred
• Comfortable working across the organization, including working directly with the CEO
• Enthusiastic, positive, friendly and a great sense of humor
