Field Engineer - Programmer

GlobaLogix, Inc. serves mid-market Energy and Utility clients by delivering engineering, design, and installation of industrial control systems on time and on budget.  We have deep industry knowledge and experience to provide complete solutions.

We are currently seeking a Field Engineer-Programmer II or III for our West Texas operations. Local candidates are preferred but we are open to hiring non-local candidates to work on a rotation. This position could be located in Pecos, Texas or Carlsbad, New Mexico.

 Must have qualifications / experience: 

·        Programmer 2 (Sr. Programmer) Mid-Level Programmer  - Experience with PLC programming development, Able to commission control systems, validate control loops, confirm functionality of control logic, configure end devices, make program changes to PLCs and HMIs, test alarms and ensure the control system is aligned with engineering documentation and red-line documents for As-Built corrections. Advanced skills in Management of Change, design reviews and process hazard analysis.                                               

  • 3-5 Years of Oilfield Programming Experience                                                
  • Proficient PLC-RTU Programming Experience                                             
  • Responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLC's, HMI's and RTU's in an oil and gas field, as well as interfacing and communicating with customers on project work                                               
  • Design and create new programs or improve existing programs in a PLC-RTU                                            
  • Exemplifies proper planning, including gathering and documenting requirements, documenting all devices in a device layout drawing, evaluations, determining throughput requirements, selecting hardware, and assigning input/output (I/O), generating electrical drawings.                                                
  • Able to provide solutions and recommendation to the client for the task required

                                                
·        Programmer 3 (Field Engineer) Seasoned Programmer - Mid Level plus a PLC Developer to ensure logic aligns with engineering design documentation. Ability to offer insight and alternatives for design improvements. Responsible for aligning resources and communicating commissioning scopes of work to be completed with team. Communicate well with construction and engineering teams to ensure alignment with engineering designs. Ensure automation commissioning compliance to engineering deliverables. When applicable, Red-line documents for final As-Built documentation for Automation and Facilities Engineering.                                            

  • 5+ Years of Oilfield Programming Experience                                           
  • Advanced PLC-RTU Programming Experience                                               
  • In-depth knowledge of oil and gas processes                                           
  • Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software                                               
  • Integrates multiple systems together and involves network communications.                                           
  • Extensive knowledge of all PLC and HMI platforms, process functionality, programming methods and configurations.                                              
  • Proven proficiency in implementation of new controls templates, ability to work independently and communicate effectively with customers.                                             
  • Ability to work with Customers, Managers, Supervisors, and Technicians to Safely complete projects within the time and budget constraints.
