Lead Brand and Marketing Designer

Lead Brand and Marketing Designer

GoodParty.org is looking for a remote, full-time Lead Brand and Marketing Designer who will create a design system framework and implement it for digital marketing, social media, website, print and merch assets to attract people to join our mission. This is a full-time, salaried opportunity, in addition we are looking for part-time contract marketing designers (when you apply please indicate which opportunities you’re open to).

About GoodParty.org:
GoodParty.org is empowering Independents to run, win, and serve so we can transform civic leadership. In 2024, we helped elect 3,287 Independent candidates into local offices across 48 states. Why?

Americans – especially young people – have been losing faith in democracy. The rigged, two-party system has turned “Independent” into a dirty word. Voters are trapped between choosing the lesser of two evils or sitting out elections altogether.

A majority of eligible voters (over 130M Americans), including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. But they keep getting re-elected! Whether you’re concerned about healthcare costs, wars, the environment, our individual freedoms, or inequality, many great solutions are held back by the dark doom loop of dysfunctional partisan politics.

While mainstream media and the two major parties focus on federal elections (Congress and the President), GoodParty.org is building from the bottom up. With over 500,000 elected offices in the United States—70% of which are uncontested—GoodParty.org is powering the movement to reclaim our communities from career politicians. We’re helping independents in local and state-level campaigns nationwide. Together, we’re building a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.

How?

GoodParty.org empowers independents to run, win, and serve in public office without the influence of partisan or big-money support. Through our free, AI-powered tools, we enable independent candidates to prioritize people over parties and community over corporate funding, transforming real people into civic heroes. We’re a platform, not a political party.

And, it’s working! Starting with 11 wins in the 2023 election cycle, GoodParty.org set an audacious goal for 1,000 wins in 2024. We beat expectations – 3,287 candidates won this past November and are serving in office across 48 states! 40.1 million voters (26% of all 2024 voters) cast a ballot for our 6,101 candidates. Our general election win rate was 54%.

Looking ahead, we’re building on our momentum and expanding our product offerings to help candidates deliver on their promises and serve their constituents effectively. Candidates who partner with us come from across the ideological spectrum and pledge to uphold people-powered principles, anti-corruption practices, and a commitment to civility. Together, we aim to transform civic leadership, bringing real accountability to public service and setting a new standard of leaders who prioritize the people they serve.

GoodParty.org is founded by serial entrepreneur, Farhad Mohit, with over $1B in exits — Flipagram (now TikTok), Shopzilla, and BizRate.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build a capable and scalable design framework that can be iterated on in a systematic fashion.

  • Design high-quality landing pages, ads, digital marketing assets, and social media designs that drive engagement and align with our brand. (We’re working on an exciting rebrand behind the scenes, which we’ll share in the interview process to gauge alignment.)

  • Create multiple variations of marketing designs for A/B testing to attract candidates to our product – we’re looking for a design thought partner given we run hundreds of simultaneous tests based on messaging and design choices.

  • Redesign our website in collaboration with our Design Manager, ensuring coherent design choices across our product for candidates and external branding.

  • For marketing landing pages, design in HubSpot’s CMS and Unbounce.

  • Build editable templates in Figma and Canva for use by the team, enabling rapid iterations and easy customization.

  • Design compelling print collateral (posters, placards), experiential marketing materials for booths and interactive setups at events, and merch (t-shirts, hats, etc.).

  • Report to GoodParty.org’s Design Manager.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You’re up for the audacious challenge of leveraging technology to transform our civic leadership in America and you don’t think the two-party system is the answer.

  • You’re a proven A-player with a 5+ year track record of innovative design, increasing responsibility, and impact, ideally within smaller organizations for consumer companies or brands.

  • You’re all over the details. You have a very high standard and frequently catch mistakes that others don’t. You can’t help but notice ways designs could be better.

  • A great day for you involves lots of hands-on time in Figma, Adobe, and Canva. You love digging into a project and quickly turning out iterations to test. You’re well versed in balancing your creative drive to explore many possibilities with the speed needs of a startup.

  • A strong understanding of UX principles. You can create wireframes and prototypes, conduct user research, A/B tests, and gather feedback to enhance user engagement without compromising on branding.

  • You have proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in creating marketing assets, website assets and collateral.

  • You communicate your ideas and reasoning clearly, both visually and verbally.

  • You have strong interest, creative ideas, and experience utilizing the latest, cutting edge generative AI tools for design.

  • You have high empathy and want to understand what will drive people to become engaged candidates, voters, and volunteers. Given the range of natural skepticism to cynicism about politics, you understand the importance of meeting people where they’re at and the power of simple design to change hearts and minds.

  • You’re able to work independently plus willing to collaborate with others to iteratively solve problems in real-time. You like jumping on a quick Zoom to figure something out together.

  • You have worked in house at either a Saas or Technology company.

  • You align with our team’s values: We Are – Honest, open, and mission-driven. We Believe – People are Good. We Create – Results that inspire and grow our movement. We Love – Freedom and owning responsibility for all that we do.

Bonus if:

  • You have experience studying, working, or volunteering in politics, political activism, or democracy reform

  • You have experience working in small, tight-knit, fast-paced remote team

  • You’re sick of sitting on the sidelines watching our democracy fail to meet its potential

  • You have experience with motion design

  • You have experience in video editing, and creating experiential marketing assets or event booths.

Why you should work at GoodParty.org:

  • Join us in solving the biggest problem of our time – fixing our democracy – so all other problems can be solved

  • We’re a Public Benefit Corporation that prioritizes social impact over profit

  • Innovative Bitcoin denominated deferred bonus plan, allowing you to have the amazing upside of being in a startup while working on a truly meaningful mission

  • Work where and how you like, on a fully remote team spread across the country

  • Join a passionate team with diverse political views focused on one mission

  • 100% coverage of health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your dependents

  • We encourage you to take time off to recharge and have an unlimited PTO (sick and vacation) policy. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We believe a work-life balance is needed to get there.

  • 401(k) program available so you can contribute toward retirement savings (no employer match)

  • Individual learning & development budget to fund your growth

  • We’ll make sure you’ve got what you need to work remotely through our workspace setup stipend

  • If you work from home, we give $50/month to help with your internet and other expenses. If you prefer co-working, that’s an option we can discuss too.

  • Fully funded for our mission. No stressing over whether the next round of funding will come through. Focus on making an impact. That’s what matters here.

The salary range is $90,000 to $125,000 (commensurate with experience) for this remote, full-time position with excellent benefits. We reserve the right to modify this pay range at any time. Title will also be commensurate with experience. We are not considering candidates currently based outside of the US, so please only apply if you are physically located in the US. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship for any of our roles at this time.
