This opportunity will remain online based on business needs which may be before or after the specified date.Note: By applying to this position you will have an opportunity to share your preferred working location from the following: Washington D.C., DC, USA; Austin, TX, USA; Boulder, CO, USA; Kirkland, WA, USA; Seattle, WA, USA.Minimum qualifications:• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.• 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.• Experience advising on global privacy and data protection laws.Preferred qualifications:• 5 years of experience with legal, regulatory or corporate compliance in the field of privacy and data protection, including strategically addressing, minimizing and avoiding regulatory risk.• Experience developing, advising, and evaluating programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.• Experience engaging with regulators, including State Attorney General (AG), Federal Trade Comission (FTC), and global data protection authorities.• Experience working with technology companies, with an understanding of complex technical issues.• Ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the highest standards of integrity.• Excellent written/verbal communication, time management, and investigative skills.About The JobRegulatory Affairs helps the company innovate responsibly and comply with laws around the world. We partner with teams across Global Affairs, Product Areas, and the rest of the company to ensure constructive engagement with governments and regulators while mitigating risk.As an Associate Regulatory Counsel in Privacy, you will join a Global team that provides subject matter expertise and engages with regulators and others to consider the role of privacy law in the changing economy, development of new technology, and passage of new laws and regulations. You will be involved in interpreting laws, partnering with internal stakeholders across the company to mitigate risk, and help communicate our compliance externally.20th century laws don't always solve 21st century problems, and Google Legal crafts innovative approaches for working with some of the toughest legal challenges of the information age. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
