Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Programs Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Not afraid to be hands-on, you write sample code and client libraries as well as participate in developer forums and support queues to troubleshoot and debug coding problems developers encounter. Internally, you work with product engineering teams improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs and testing new features. Chrome, Android, App Engine, HTML5 as well as our core Google Apps and Ads APIs are just some of the platforms you promote and support.Drawing on your leadership and technical expertise, you drive how applications work across multiple platforms and industries as you grow our community of developers. You magnify the impact of Google's technology as you helps 3rd parties to work together.You will lead a team of practitioners that empathize deeply with external technical communities, and advocate on their behalf to the Google Cloud Product and Engineering teams, ensuring that our products are built to meet the community's needs and that they provide the best possible user and developer experiences. You will work to raise awareness of Cloud technologies and methodologies within our technical communities through enablement and inspiration, and you will drive strategy around Google Developer Relations efforts for specific communities and products.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google .Responsibilities• Assist in technical communities as a practitioner having, or developing, deep understanding of that community’s needs.• Represent the needs of relevant technical communities throughout the entire product lifecycle - including input on design discussions, customer zero testing, launch, post-launch updates.• Work with Product and Engineering teams to define product strategies and to craft narratives around new products and features.• Build and foster an external ‘community ecosystem’ of influencers, meetups, experts that amplify our messages and extend our reach.• Advocate for your community internally and direct Google Cloud product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Engagement, Go-To Market and other cross-functional teams.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
