We are seeking a highly-motivated Data Analyst to perform in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses on problems of importance to U.S. national security. These problems include, for example, assessing risk within the Defense Industrial Base, isolating inefficiencies in business operations, and quantifying how investments drive performance outcomes and align with strategic aims. This Analyst is responsible for generating and communicating data-driven insights to the broader national security community — including DoD, Congress and the media — using data visualization, compelling written papers, and briefings.


You must be analytical, curious, and driven to solve problems and have an impact. Data Analyst at Govini has a firm understanding of how to produce data-driven insights. You have a quantitative mindset and understanding of the tools required to dig into data. You are creative and tenacious. You understand defense acquisition processes. You know how to extract the most meaningful insights from data, but more importantly, how to tell stories make the insights compelling.


This is a full-time team member position, working in the office at our Arlington, VA location.


Scope of Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing teams to conceptualize and produce long form thought leadership at a consistent cadence
  • Develop a strong point of view on the most relevant analytical topics for Govini’s audiences
  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses on problems of importance to U.S. national security community using data visualization, compelling written papers and briefings
  • Create new data analytics and extract data-driven insights with Govini’s data
  • Effectively communicate and present data-driven findings in a concise and compelling manner to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate knowledge in areas such as US Government programs and operations, federal acquisitions and program management, government procurement practices, supplier assurance, federal contracting, Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE), Supply Chain Risk Management, and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis


Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Python or R and familiarity with SQL
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Political Science, International Security or similar fields, or 1-4 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong business acumen, excellent professional demeanor with a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment without hesitation
  • Referenceable history of exceptional performance in conducting and presenting high-quality analysis to stakeholders
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple work-streams and projects, learn quickly, and work independently with little supervision


Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of network analytics
  • 1-3 years experience performing national security-related business analytics; preference for research, quantitative analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization skills
  • Current possession of a U.S. security clearance
