Associate Attorney - Civil Defense Litigation

Well-established boutique law firm seeks an associate attorney to join their recognized litigation group. We are searching for a talented associate with a background in civil defense litigation and an interest in helping businesses and employers through a variety of matters. As an associate in the litigation group, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys while managing your own cases. You’ll be an integral part in guiding clients through disputes, handling depositions, drafting and responding to pleadings and discovery, counseling on state and federal laws, and representing clients in court. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, excels in communication, and is eager to grow with a firm known for its commitment to excellence.Key Responsibilities:• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters• Manage cases independently, including taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and responding to discovery• Provide strategic advice to clients on federal and state legal issues• Represent clients in court, including motion hearings and alternative dispute resolutions• Act as a trusted advisor, delivering practical and creative legal solutions to our clientsQualifications/Skills:• JD from an accredited law school• Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the California Bar• 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business, employment, or general civil defense• Prior experience taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in court• Outstanding research and analytical skills, and excellent attention to detail• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to think strategically and creatively while providing practical counsel to clients• Trial experience is welcomed, but is not a requirementBenefits:• Well-established mid-size firm with a collaborative team• Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience• Performance-based bonuses• Flexible hybrid work schedule• Health, dental, vision benefits• 401k savings planTo apply, please forward your resume in confidence to Jordan at jordan.wheeler@gogpac.com, or reach out directly for further details.
