Job Description

Basics of a Collateral Resolution Specialist

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm and alternating Saturdays 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Flexibility required - extended hours, based on company needs
  • Hybrid Position - After the initial training period, a hybrid work model will become an option. You will be requested to work 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. Allowing for a blend of remote and onsite work based on performance and departmental needs.

Summary of what you'll do as a Collateral Resolution Specialist

In the Collateral Resolution Specialist role, you will participate in supporting financially sound loan late-stage delinquency loss mitigation controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate good customer service skills and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Initiate outbound calls and receive inbound calls for late-stage delinquencies. Light skip tracing and account recommendations
  • Negotiate account resolution and accurately input and document actions within the collection systems while adhering to company performance and productivity standards
  • Service account correspondence 
  • Monitor and respond to repossession assignments and insurance claims 
  • Communicate escalated issues with management
  • Comply with credit union policies, state and federal laws related to Collections
  • Complete assigned training as required 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must haves for a Collateral Resolution Specialist

  • Skills:  Work independently and self-motivated. Strong oral/written communication skills. Strong analytical and listening comprehension skills.
  • Experience:  3+ years of directly related collections experience. Proficient knowledge of cease and desist, bankruptcy debt collection rules, procedures, and prohibitions. Proficient knowledge of UDAAP, FDCPA, FCRA and familiarity with “breach of the peace” laws and protocols.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  .

Nice to haves for a Collateral Resolution Specialist

  • Skills:  Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Education: Associate’s degree in business-related field.
