Job Summary
- Assembly group leader will effectively/efficiently manage the day-to-day work flow of all assembly lines by providing clear directions to line leaders, delegating work tasks to line leaders, developing line leaders to provide optimal flexibility, and monitoring daily departmental performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Adherence to zero tolerance for safety and Quality
- Review production schedule and develop daily production plan; communicate the plan to line leaders
- Direct day-to-day work tasks for line leaders.
- Interface with assembly schedulers to implement daily production plan.
- Follow standard work
- Maintain strong floor presence
- Gemba walk with shift supervisor 2 times per shift
- Process reviews during shift ensuring compliance to safety, quality, and operational guidelines
- Daily reporting
- Conduct daily communication meeting in absence of supervisor
- Disposition daily scrap and submit scrap forms for review.
- Coordinate training requirements with line leaders, supervisor and training specialist
- Evaluate and develop training plans for line leaders.
- Communicate component part shortages with warehouse team and scheduling team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree; or, 6 – 12 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of functionality and setup of assembly equipment
- Basic troubleshooting skills for assembly equipment
- Working knowledge of assembly line
- Working knowledge of components
