Group Vice President, Corporate Marketing

Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Group Vice President, Corporate Marketing (GVP) leads Brand, Content Marketing, Digital Marketing, External and Executive Communications, and Customer Advocacy.

The GVP is responsible for the comprehensive promotion of the company. This leader will own the development and execution of PowerSchool’s brand and communications strategy, helping to ensure the company maintains its leadership position in the K-12 EdTech industry. The GVP will focus on driving brand awareness, strengthening customer relationships including engaging customers, connecting them to our products, and making them fans of the PowerSchool brand. This individual will be an ambassador for the organization.

This role is a critical part of PowerSchool’s marketing efforts and requires exceptional strategic leadership, brand experience, deep external media and influencer relationships. Additionally, the role requires a strong understanding of digital marketing and the ability to drive customer engagement efforts, in coordination and collaboration with the broader marketing team, which deliver material business benefit.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and create programs and campaigns to deliver measurable improvements in PowerSchool’s brand awareness, perception, and preference among key buyers and influencers.
  • Ensure a consistent brand experience across PowerSchool’s externally focused programs, content, and communications.
  • Develop and create the communication strategy for PowerSchool that is compelling and engaging to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with key functions internally as well as external agencies to develop messaging, cadence, and content for all communication needs both internationally, nationally, and regionally.
  • Oversee the content marketing strategy and engage and collaborate with cross-functional participants as needed to support content ideation, creation, activation, and measurement requirements.
  • Serve as the ultimate owner of powerschool.com and associated web properties. Drive strategy, execution and optimization of PowerSchool’s web presence driving increases in web engagement and conversion.
  • Oversee the customer advocacy program to ensure growth and utilization of our extensive customer champions and reference program.
Qualifications:

Qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in a related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant brand and communications experience for a B2B SaaS company and/or familiarity working in an ed tech organization.
  • Strong understanding of how brand activities connect to demand and overall business performance.
  • Performance-driven attitude; initiative-taking; ability to plan, prioritize, meet evolving deadlines and work in partnership across business functions.
  • Collaborator: ability to manage and coach, partner with peers, and exhibit a global mindset.
  • Strong executive presence
  • Ability to think on your feet and maintain calm demeanor under pressure.
  • B2B SaaS or K-12 Ed Tech experience strongly preferred, with demonstrated ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $260,000-$280,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
